For the first Profugo COD, the intention is to select a community where the chances of success are relatively high. There are several factors that may facilitate the successful implementation of a Profugo Center of Development. Some of these factors are:
  • Relatively stable political climate
  • Fertile land and climate that allows for the cultivation of valuable cash crops
  • Profugo team members who are from Kerala and hence can liaise with the local officials and people
  • Availability of resource personnel who are willing to advice and guide efforts in agriculture, dairy, etc.
  • Initial surveys have indicated great excitement and anticipation from the people regarding possible healthcare and educational infrastructure
