Profugo was founded in 2008 by Jenny and Ashwin Koleth. Jenny and Ashwin have spent time in much of the world and were devastated by the effects of poverty. They believed that if disadvantaged communities had access to the same types of tools and resources, they too could break the cycle of poverty to lead better lives. In 2009, Profugo established its first community project in Wayanad, India. Since then, Profugo has raised thousands of dollars, collaborated with hundreds of volunteers, partnered with numerous universities and organizations, and changed the lives of countless others both in the States and Abroad. Still to this day, Profugo is run by a large network of dedicated volunteers who come from a variety of backgrounds but all share a commitment to help others.
